Park Information and Rules
The Robert Doerr Park, a community park, is available for the members and guests of the Long Lake Peninsula Association. The park pavilion and/or parking may be reserved by any member in good standing. After consulting the current park calendar, please submit a reservation. Please contact llpaparks@gmail.com for additional information or with any questions regarding the use of the park.
NOTE: Reserving the park does not include the boat launch or beach area.
Our amenities include
- covered pavilion with picnic tables with a seating capacity of 50
- Grills brought to the park should be freestanding and used outside of the pavilion
- portable toilet Memorial Day through Labor Day
- parking for approximately 20 cars
- municipal grade playground with swings, climbing structure, sand, and benches in the shade
- 3 hole disc golf
- volleyball court
- basketball half-court
- and a lending library where all are welcome to leave a book and take a book
PARK RULES
- Parking is prohibited on the roads of the peninsula. Members who need to park more cards than can be parked on their property should reserve the park for this need.
- Please do not park on the basketball court.
- Cars parked on the roads or not in accordance with the park rules may be towed at the owners expense.
- Trash facilities are NOT available at the park. Members should bring all necessary items to contain and remove trash.
- Pets are welcome at the park however they must be under the control of their owner at all times. Please clean-up and remove all pet waste.
Waterfront Access and Boat Launch
- The boat launch, dock and swim raft are available for use by members of good standing, their immediate families, and household guests.
- Respect the posted hours of use posted at the boat launch. Remember, we have neighbors who live adjacent to the boat launch.
- Respect Grand Traverse County leash laws and keep dogs on a leash while at the boat launch. Before exercising your dog with a swim, please ensure that any other members present at the boat launch are comfortable with the dog being off leash.
- Take all personal items with you when you leave the area, including any trash.
- LLPA members are provided with a key to access the boat launch. You will need to sign a contract and pay a key fee before receiving your key.
- LLPA Bylaws strictly prohibit the sharing or loaning of a boat launch key. Short term rental owners can make their key available for their guests however they are accountable to ensure guests use the boat launch in accordance with LLPA rules.

Boardwalk

The boardwalk connects Hillside Drive to Sunset Drive. You may see a fox or deer but will certainly hear the frogs and enjoy a dose of nature on this walk.
