Nestled in the heart of Long Lake near Traverse City, Michigan is the Long Lake Peninsula. A former island and collection of hunting camps, the Long Lake Peninsula Association has been in existence for over 40 years, and, as a private community, owns and maintains all roads and recreational areas.
The LLPA is a diverse group of permanent dwellers (62%) and second home owners (38%). Recreational resources for LLPA members include a park, and beach with boat launch. Please spend some time looking at our site.
A feature that distinguishes us from other communities is that there is only one road onto Long Lake Peninsula. Thus, traffic is slowed and residents are able to enjoy walking, jogging, biking, rollerblading, and cross country skiing.
When you come on to the peninsula, the road narrows and homes are very close to the road. Please observe the 15 mph speed limit and watch for pedestrians.
As a private community, there is no public access to a beach, boat launch or playground.
