Park Information and Rules

Welcome to the Robert Doerr Park, community park of the LLPA for use by members and guests of the Long Lake Peninsula Association. Groups larger than a small family gathering should reserve the park and parking.

The park (pavilion and/or parking) may be reserved by any LLPA member in good standing. Please complete and submit the request form.  Please contact  [email protected] for additional information or with questions.
NOTE: Reserving the park does not include the boat launch or beach area.

Our amenities include

  • a covered pavilion with picnic tables and capacity of 50. Please do not place grills on the picnic tables.
  • municipal grade playground with swings, climbing structure, sand, and benches in the shade
  • 3 hole disc golf
  • tether ball
  • a Lending Library- take a book, leave a book
  • seasonal port-a-jon
  • Resting area
  • Volleyball court
  • Half-court basketball

RULES

  • There is no parking on any LLPA road. At the park there is plenty of off-road parking available on the road-side of the fence.

     

  • There is NO PARKING on the basketball court.
  • Those in violation of the no parking rules may be towed at owners expense.
  • Pet’s must be under the control of the owner at all times. Please clean-up after your pet and take home for disposal. There is no regular trash pick-up at the park.
  • Please clean up after using the park  We do not have regular trash pick-up at the park. Please take out any pet waste or trash that you bring to the park.
  • Members may join the PARKS COMMITTEE to be involved in planning & maintenance.

Waterfront Access and Boat Launch

  • The boat launch, dock and swim raft are available for use by LLPA members of good standing, their immediate families, and household guests.
  • Respect the posted hours of use posted at the boat launch.  Remember, we have neighbors who live adjacent to the boat launch.
  • Respect Grand Traverse County leash laws and keep dogs on a leash while at the boat launch. Before exercising your dog with a swim, please ensure that any other members present at the boat launch are comfortable with the dog being off leash.
  • Take all personal items with you when you leave the area, including any trash.
  • LLPA members are provided with a key to access the boat launch.    You will need to sign a contract and pay a key fee before receiving your key.
  • LLPA Bylaws strictly prohibit the sharing or loaning of a boat launch key.   Short term rental owners can make their key available for their guests however they are accountable to ensure guests use the boat launch in accordance with LLPA rules.

Boardwalk

The boardwalk connects Hillside Drive to Sunset Drive. You may see a fox or deer but will certainly hear the frogs and enjoy a dose of nature on this walk.

Boardwalk location
